Maureen FitzSimons, better known as Maureen O'Hara in America, was an exceptional child. It was an innate quality for a woman from Irish origin, and that was surrounded during her early days by talented family members as well as parents. Maureen entered the sanctity of family on August 17, 1920 in Ranelagh (a suburb within Dublin), Ireland. Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons was the mother of her. She was a accomplished contralto. Charles FitzSimons was a successful businessman from Dublin who also controlled a portion of the Irish soccer team Shamrock Rovers. Maureen was the second of six FitzSimons children - Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen was an athletic natural and enjoyed playing tough sports. Her talent for performing was a perfect complement to her love of athletics. As a result, she won the majority of the Feis Awards for acting and dramatic performances within her own country. In her 14th year, she joined the Abbey Theater to follow her dream and study the classical theater and operatic singing.
